This stainless steel alloy is a unique term used by Fort Wayne Metals to meet all of the requirements of 316LS. Used primarily for permanent implants, 316 LVM has a lower carbon content that determines its corrosion resistance than any other alloy in the 300 series. This material is remelted under vacuum to allow for a more uniform chemical reaction and reduce voids and contaminants.
